AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN UP.

"The primary form of harassment that we're seeing is actually non-contact: it tends to be remarks, gestures and jokes. But the fact that one-third of college students are experiencing some form of physical harassment is certainly a concern."

what i faced just a few hours back can very well be termed as "taking the fairer sex for granted".and thou it is extremely common today,no one ever raises a voice against the people who are guilty.all around i can see people shouting anti corruption slogans and taking out rallies and what not against reservations,scams,government...
but no one bothers about-woman harassment.
recently 3 bodies of minor girls were found in west Delhi.one body with no clothes on was found near nizamuddin,a woman was raped by auto drivers and his friends when she was already trying to escape her relative who was raping her, by hiring an auto.and then of course our radhika tanwar.small happenings??not worth noticing??perhaps because they are so frequent that it hardly makes a difference for most of us.what everyone fails to notice is the presence of the word "FREQUENT".AND THIS EXACTLY WHY IT IS HIGH TIME WE PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE UP THIS ISSUE JUST AS SERIOUSLY AS WE TAKE UP ISSUES LIKE CORRUPTION,BUDGETS,POLITICS,AND EARTHQUAKES.

my inspiration for this post-i got a call from a guy claiming to be rahul chaudhary from new friends colony.he said he saw me 1.5 years back and that he is feeling lonely and thus he WANTS to talk to me.to which i reacted like any girl would.i told him sternly to forget about ever calling me back because i am not interested.and i disconnected the call.he called me back several times.after sometime i decided to take his call and know what actually was his problem.and as usual,he talked all rubbish and called me names and even went on to say that he would like to meet me.anyways.i tried to reason out with him.for all my well wishers...i did.

this incident urged me enough to write about harassment the fairer sex is facing now a days.WHAT I WANT..AND WHAT ALL FEMALES TODAY IN A METRO LIKE DELHI NEED IS BETTER EXECUTION OF LAWS IN ORDER TO NAIL DOWN THE GUILTY.because we have a lot many laws in INDIAN PENAL CODE like section 375 and 377.but what lacks is an efficient system of execution of these laws.only then can such instances of outraging of a woman's modesty be controlled.even we are the citizens of india.our rights and well-being too deserves a treatment like that of curroption.

@Ankit: Punishing will never give a learning experience. They should be penalized in a way that they they should think of 1000 times before harassing any lady. Lets say 40% right should be given to ladies to punish them and in rest 60% accused should be asked to walk naked on the roads with a board in hand "I misbehaved with a lady."

@ankit-yes i agree with you.
@vaibs-at personal level i agree with you heart and soul but its unconstitutional to adhere to what you recommend legally.article 19 and other similar legislations would not let that happen.what can be done and needs to be done is at the executive level.if laws are executed when and where required,there would be no defaulters.
